St. Joseph Youth Soccer Association

About Us

St Joseph Youth Soccer Association is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization that strives to bring a quality playing experience to the region's youth athletes.  Our board is solely comprised of parents and coaches who volunteer their time to ensure the success of the Association. We do not require our athletes to participate in selling fundraisers to keep our costs low.  We work year to year to ensure better facilities and Soccer joy for the kids.  Sponsorships and donations are always welcome.

Our mission is to create a strong and enduring organization that will provide an opportunity for the youth to enjoy the game of soccer. SJYSA shall be an inclusive organization that will encourage all to participate and compete. SJYSA will always strive to operate to the best of our ability adhering to the principles of fair play.

Our 'wishlist' of future renovations is extensive and with planning and community support we will be able to achieve our goals. Some of our future improvements include: parking improvements (concrete parking lot), lighted facilities, additional field grading, and more!

Our fall/spring season starts with fall game play (games begin around Sept 1) where the athletes participate in 8 games. The youth play in the spring season (beginning around April 1) another 8 games with the same team from fall, for a total of 16 games (for one registration fee!).
The registration fee includes a SJYSA-logo t-shirt for players in the U-6 division and a SJYSA-logo jersey for players in the U-8 and above divisions. Registration dues help to purchase team balls and training equipment for coaches, while maintaining current goal posts and nets. The cost also helps pay for the Youth Coaching Certificate that is required for all first-time soccer coaches.

We are currently offering winter season play separate from the fall/spring playing season. Winter play takes place inside the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex located on the Missouri Western State University campus. There are no practices during winter season but there are games throughout the months of January and February, each held on a Sunday afternoon.  NOTE: Parents are asked to pay a $1 admission fee to watch each indoor game, and no food or drink are allowed in the facilities. This fee helps offset the cost to rent the building.

We offer referee training and employment for those interested.
