SJYSA 6 v 6 Shootout and Alumni Games

The St. Joseph Youth Soccer Association's annual Alumni Games and 6 v 6 shootout for High School and adult teams will be July 10th - 12th. Games will be at the Riverside soccer complex and Missouri Western State University's soccer field. High school team entry fee is $240 with a three game guarantee with a maximum roster of 8 players. Individual players may register for "at large" teams and cost is $30 per player. Adult fees are $35 per player for the 6 v 6 or the alumni games. You can play in both for $50. 6 v 6 games will consist of 2 20 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime period.

SJYSA 3 v 3 Shootout

St. Joseph Youth Soccer is sponsoring a 3v3 tournament July 10th - 12th for ages U-8 thru U-15. Games will be played at the Riverside complex and Missouri Western University's Soccer field. All team are guaranteed three games and cost is $150 per team with a maximum roster of 6 players. Individual players will be assigned to a team in their age group if available and the cost will be $30 per player. Teams will play two 15 minute halves separated by a 2 minute halftime period or the first team to reach 12 goals, whichever comes first.

Tournament Celebrating our 3Oth Anniversary - July 10th - 12th

The St Joseph Youth Soccer Association Board is proud to sponsor our annual summer soccer tournament July 10th - 12th. This season is the 30th year anniversary of the St Joseph Youth Soccer Association and we hope that you can “Come Help us Celebrate.” Last year we had over 25 teams participate from all age groups. This year, we will again have 3 v 3 divisions for boys and girls ages 8 through 15. High School and adults can participate in 6 v 6 divisions. Saturday evening we will host our alumni games on the full sized field. These are 11 v 11 matches for women, open and senior players. This is a great opportunity to meet former teammates, coaches and referees from our association. The senior game finishes out the evening and it is great to just know these guys and gals are still able to move.

All teams are guaranteed three games on MWSU’s soccer field. Individual players are encouraged to sign up and will be assigned to teams needing players or at large teams. Players and teams affiliated with SJYSA will get a discount. 3v3 teams can have a maximum of 6 players and 6 v 6 teams can have no more than 9 players.

3 v 3 and 6 v 6 games are quick and exciting soccer. Add in the turf on MWSU‘s field and you have a combination that is lots of fun and makes for great soccer. Fields are Open Once Again!!!!

It appears that there was a log jam down stream from the fields which caused the fields to be flooded. Since yesterday, this has been resolved and the fields are no longer under water. Coaches, please be cognizant of the fields and steer clear from areas of the fields that are not in good shape. We need everyone to take pride in the fields as we continue to play on them.

SOCCER REFEREES!

St. Joseph Youth Soccer Association will be hosting an introductory course for beginning referees. August 13, 14, and 15th the SJYSA will host a workshop to train referees. After completing this course all passing participants will be registered USSF Referees. New referees will be qualified to referee soccer games at the soccer complex, or other soccer competitions.

The cost for the course is $65, $45 for their registration fees and $20 for the course itself. The times are as follows and new referees must attend all three days and pass the final exam to become a registered referee.

In addition the Soccer Association will hold a recertification clinic on August 16th from 1 to 4:30. This course will qualify participants to renew their referee license. Cost for this course is $45, the re-registration fee.
